Compagnie Farid'O (France)
Saleté (Dirt)

Sad is a 30 year old Iranian immigrant in Austria, who spends his evenings selling roses in restaurants. Illegal, he discovers that he is a reject of society, good for nothing but death. The emotional shock of this discovery causes his body to shrink and he dreams of disappearing into the sofa on which he spends his days.
Using virtuosic dance, aerial work and spoken word throughout, Saleté is a story of mental suffering, in which dance expresses the dreams being broken down by hatred and fear.
Making their UK debut, Compagnie Farid'O, led by choreographer Farid Ounchiouene, have gripped audiences across Europe with their dramatic physical theatre performances.
Since the company formed in 2002, Farid has worked alongside Farid Berki for the Company Melting Spot on the shows Petrouchka and Point de chute. He then met Guy Alloucherie, the Director of Hendrick Van Der Zee who inspired him to create multi-disciplined work, combining Hip Hop dance, theatre, music, circus and video projection. Other works created by Cie Farid'O include La Nuit Juste Avant Les Forets (The Night Just Before the Forests), Etre dans la Rue (To be in the street) and Cabaret (working title) currently in development.
