Hakeem Onibudo

Hakeem Onibudo is a performer, choreographer/ director, mentor, British Council Ambassador and host who began teaching dance in 1995, forming the company Impact Dance. He is the creator of the unique street-style dance class XPRESS YO’SELF, which has been running at Danceworks for 14 years. He choreographed the Pet Shop Boys Fundamental World tour for 2006/07 and is also the originator of Two’s A Company. He has been the resident choreographer for Street Dance International in 2009 and 2010.

Hakeem played a lead role in “Into the Hoods” with the company ZooNation and is the creator and artistic director of LIVEVIBE, a performance platform which is resident
at Sadler’s Wells. Hakeem was made an ambassador for the British Council Cultural Leadership International Development Programme in 2009 allowing him to continue to pursue cross cultural exchange internationally.

His current project sees him producing and creating a hip hop event for Zimbabwe this August 2011.
