Breakin' Convention is established as the freshest and most innovative event on the global Hip Hop scene.

In addition to the much anticipated sell-out annual festival, Breakin' Convention now presents and produces Hip Hop dance theatre events throughout the year, as well as developing regional hubs and a national touring programme.

Rising Styles Festival 4-13 July 2008 Brighton
Originating as the Brighton Hip Hop Festival in 2004 and rebranded in 2008, RISING STYLES has become the UK's largest celebration of International Hip Hop culture. It is recognised as a must attend event for all Hip Hop enthusiasts, as well as anyone with an interest in the many art forms that are comprised within the culture. Organised by arts development agency KALA PHOOL, RISING STYLES exists as 'not for profit' to celebrate the richness, strength and diversity of Hip Hop culture, with many of its events free to attend.

UK B Boy Championships 13 July 2008 London
Armory Presents the Sony Ericsson Regional Conflict Final as part of the 2008 National B-Boy Eliminations on 13 July at the Carling Academy Islington. Hosted by Hooch (Armory Massive) with music by DJ's Renegade (Armory Massive / Extended Players) and Timber (Zulu Kings / BTC) the event will feature the National Battles for B Boy Crew, Solo B Boy, Solo Popping and 2 on 2 Locking Battles. Winners of each category will represent the UK at the Sony Ericsson UK B Boy Championships World Finals on 11 & 12 October. All ages are welcome. Admission £8 in advance or more on the door.

The Surgery

Showcasing the freshest new Hip Hop Theatre performance. Hosted by Jonzi D and featuring special guest emcees The Hymphatic Thabs and Ben Sharpa (SA). THE SURGERY is a platform for emerging and established artists to present new Hip Hop theatre work in a professional theatre space. The evening always features brand new work created during Jonzi D's Hip Hop Theatre Workshops and a selection of other work. At the end, the audience is invited onto the stage to do an impromptu workshop with Jonzi.

Hip Hop Don't Stop! is a five day intensive course with the finest street and hip hop dance instructors in Europe. The course will be divided into ability groups so whether you are just getting started or have been dancing for 10 yrs we have a group that is perfect for you. Due to two sell out years in the South of England we are also taking this course to Liverpool (see below).
