Thursday 11th March 2010 will envisage the fifth anniversary of the annual hip hop extravaganza ‘BREAKIN’ BOUDNARIES’. Promising to be even bigger and better then last year, bringing together some of the best bboys (breakdancers) from all around the globe to bring you some explosive dance action in order to help raise money for Oxfam International.
Our DJ’s will be playing the very best in Hip Hop, R&B, Funk, Breaks, Funky House and Bashment to suit the needs of everyone, but this will be no ordinary night, action packed full of dance battles and shows featuring the top eight Breakdance crews in the UK (inc. Soul Mavericks from the UK B-Boy Championships & BBC’s Ballet Boys) and international stars from every continent compete against each other to help raise money for a good cause. It doesn’t stop there; we have a LIVE PA from EoDub Feat REEPS ONE, the UK’s current No.1 Beatboxer and back by popular demand Tuca E Mel live funk drummers coming straight from Brazil! We have international guest dancers Skychief (Rugged Solutions) and Wild Willy (Groove Kingz) from Netherlands to show us some Dutch flava! B-Boy Born will be coming from South Korea (Riverz / MZK / Floor Gangz) as a special guest judge and to get down in the cyphers with us.
If you haven’t seen bboying before don’t let this opportunity pass to discover the underground world of some of the globe’s finest dance athletes. The Seven2Smoke battle will test the stamina and creativity of each dancer and will leave you wondering, ‘how do they do that’ as you witness moves you would think were humanely impossible while the crew battles will leave you marveling at there polished routines and commandos.
There will also be graffiti displays, clothing and DVD stalls. There will truly be something for everyone, a night not to be missed!! Proceeds from this event will go towards Oxfam International a leading charity to help put an end to global poverty. They work directly with communities to influence the powerful to ensure poor people can improve their lives and livelihoods and have a say in the decisions that affect them. Oxfam also helps to provide aid to those in need in countries which have been struck by natural disasters or emergencies.
