Breakin' Convention Presents Yaman Okur’s 1mm Au Dessus Du Sol

Following the presentation of Pierre Rigal’s acclaimed Scandale in Autumn 2018, Breakin’ Convention: Presents returns with 1mm Au Dessus Du Sol (1mm above the ground) from acclaimed French choreographer Yaman Okur in collaboration with Jean-Philippe Collard Neven.

Yaman is a master of illusion. Having first performed at Breakin’ Convention 2010 as part of Pro Phenomen he is widely recognised as one of the most innovative b-boys in the world. Adept at experimentation with objects, he uses props very creatively and is able to adapt to his environment very cleverly.

For 1mm Au Dessus Du Sol he will work with a live classical pianist, returning to his beginnings as a dancer trying to enter the ranks of society far from his dreams. Using his unique style of breaking, musicality and various props, Yaman will appear to float, levitate and seamlessly travel in front of your very eyes.

Breakin’ Convention Presents is a platform for the finest hip hop theatre-makers to showcase full- length works, as well as welcoming creations by contemporary choreographers working with street dance forms.
