Since 2004, Breakin' Convention has represented the origins and evolution of hip hop culture from around the world and around the corner. Working with the most respected, innovative and inspirational artists, Breakin' Convention is at the vanguard of the global development of the hip hop theatre genre, through its world-renowned festivals, international touring, professional development, youth and community projects, and the brand-new Academy Breakin’ Convention.

National Breaking Championships 2026

We are proud to present the National Breaking Championships 2026 at Sadler’s Wells East.

Breaking GB is the national governing body for Breaking in the United Kingdom, responsible for developing the sport at all levels from grassroots participation
to elite international competition. As the organisation leading the Olympic pathway for Breaking, it plays a central role in identifying, supporting and preparing British athletes for major events including the European and World Championships and the Olympic Games.

Working closely with communities, partners and cultural institutions, Breaking GB is committed to growing the scene across the UK while preserving the authenticity, creativity and cultural roots of Breaking. Through competitions, education and talent development programmes, it aims to inspire the next generation of breakers and
elevate the UK’s presence on the global stage.

The event is also a significant opportunity to introduce Breaking to a wider British audience.
Its inclusion in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has already inspired a new generation of dancers, blending sport,
music and culture in a way that strongly connects with young people.

The Breaking GB National Breaking Championships promises to be a thrilling spectacle,
capturing the energy of elite competition while celebrating the creativity, community and culture at the heart of Breaking.

The UK breaking community comes together for a full day of battles as some of the country’s best B-Boys and B-Girls go head-to-head for the National Championship titles.
Expect serious battles, big energy and the next generation alongside established names
all under one roof at Sadler’s Wells East.

Breakin’ Convention is coming to Rotterdam!

Breakin’ Convention, Jonzi D’s world famous international festival of hip hop dance theatre,
takes over Rotterdam from 12-15 November 2026. 

Across Rotterdam we will be at Nieuwe Luxor, Theater Rotterdam and Theater Zuidplein, international icons and local voices come together in one shared space: the stage, the floor and the cypher! Featuring some of the most prestigious crews from around the world to local talents, jam sessions and workshops

Back to the Lab 2027
Applications are now open

A 2 week choreographic intensive for hip hop theatre makers.
This is aimed at experienced hip hop choreographers, which gives Back to the Lab artists dedicated time, space and mentoring for the development of their practice. Back to the Lab gives artists dedicated time, space and mentoring for the development of their practice over a two-week period.
