Breakin' Convention presents the premiere of The Beat of Life, an original hip hop theatre production produced entirely from scratch by young people aged between 13-21.

The show tells the story of Ava, a young introvert that is often misunderstood within her community. Aside from her own invisibility, the show also delves into tension within Ava's landscape. We find how abusive people can be on social media as well as how ignorance can be quite prevalent among strangers.

Saturday at 4.30pm in the Studio Theatre
Admission is FREE

Since November Breakin' Convention offered young people the opportunity to experience workshops in all elements of hip hop to create a brand new theatre piece to perform at the Breakin' Convention’s 15th anniversary. Working with professional dancers, rappers and theatre creators, they developed the production in three months, led by mentors Yami 'Rowdy' Lofvenberg and Yomi Sode.
