Word Becomes Flesh, a creative development programme , is looking for 6 acts (solo artists or duos) to join a unique creative journey where spoken word and dance come together. During an intensive week, you'll be in the studio creating a new short work.
Participants will receive coaching from Jonzi D (artistic director Breakin’ Convention) and Sheree Lenting (choreographer and programmer Theater Rotterdam) as they explore choreo-poetry, lyrical movement, storytelling, rhythm and presence.
We are looking for:
• Experienced dancers who are curious about spoken word and storytelling
• Experienced spoken word artists and MCs who want to explore movement and performance
• Dutch and English-speaking spoken word artists
• Solo artists and duos
• All ages welcome
No previous experience in combining spoken word and dance is required, just an openness to experiment, collaborate and create.
Programme dates:
• 8 November 2026 – Workshop Afternoon (13:00-17:00)
• 9–12 November 2026 – Creation Days (10:00–17:00)
• 15 November 2026 – Performance at Theater Zuidplein (whole day)
