    Botis Seva’s Sing Child Sing: Performed by Seva and created with Far From The Norm, this new solo work is an unfiltered exploration of healing, identity, and the invisible legacies passed from one generation to the next.

    6 acts ranging from breaking and waacking to hip-hop and krump, top-notch dancers from all over the world as well as local talent will take the stage.

    An interactive day of workshops, battles, showcases and open mic sessions, bringing together local and international hip hop communities while inviting everyone to take part themselves.

    Over the course of a week, six makers will develop a short showcase combining movement and spoken word. coached by artistic director Jonzi D and choreographer Sheree Lenting.

For four days, the city becomes the global meeting point for hip hop culture
from theatre to battles, from DJs to spoken word.

Across Rotterdam we will be at Nieuwe Luxor, Theater Rotterdam and Theater Zuidplein, international icons and local voices come together in one shared space: the stage, the floor and the cypher! Featuring some of the most prestigious crews from around the world to local talents, jam sessions and workshops

 

Breakin’ Convention isn’t just a festival - it’s about bringing the local and international crews together while representing the true elements of hip hop. Expect a lineup of next-level dancing, funky fresh DJs and MC’s with the sharpest rhymes, a celebration of the best local communities, street artists and a world-class experience of hip hop that’s suitable for anyone of any age or background.
