Join us for a funk-filled family weekend as Breakin’ Convention takes over the newly opened Sadler’s Wells East for two packed days of FREE activities and performances.
The Artists
Grace Jackson
Grace Jackson’s Company is a collective of like-minded artists and performers rooted in East London. Blending hip hop and free-form dance, they explore complex themes through rich textures and interpretive imagery. Their performances spark conversation, using movement as a language to challenge, connect, and innovate. With a commitment to experimentation and collaboration, the company pushes the boundaries of contemporary dance and storytelling.
GSB
Founded in 2017, GSB is a London-based Krump collective offering audiences a raw, intimate look into their lives and environments. Rooted in one of the most expressive street dance styles, GSB draws inspiration from community and peers, using movement as a tool for storytelling and empowerment. Their work sparks dialogue, encouraging self-expression and giving voice to lived experiences - inviting everyone to find power and purpose through the language of Krump.
Jackie Kibuka
Jackie Kibuka is a dancer, choreographer, movement director, teacher, and actress with over 15 years in the UK street dance and Hip Hop theatre scene. Versatile in styles like Waacking, Popping, Locking, House, and Contemporary, she’s trained with Runway House, Boadicea, and ZooNation. Passionate about telling authentic stories of the African and Caribbean diaspora, her credits include Some Like It Hip Hop, NAO, Eurovision, Beetlejuice 2, and Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World.
Get Into Dance
Get Into Dance is a free weekly hip hop workshop at Sadler’s Wells East, led by Charlie Blair of The Blair Academy. Open to adults of all abilities, including seated dancers, it promotes movement, creativity, and connection. Charlie, a professional dancer and social entrepreneur, uses hip hop to support healthy ageing and reduce loneliness.
Sessions run Wednesdays, 11:00 am–12:30 pm, on The Dance Floor at Sadler’s Wells East.
Jade Hackett
Our host with the most!
Jade Hackett is an Movement Director, Dancer, Choreographer, Actress and Host, with extensive commercial and theatre experience.
Theatre as Choreographer / Associate Choreographer includes: Miss Saigon (Sheffield Crucible) Hex (National Theatre), For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy (Apollo Theatre), Sylvia (Old Vic), Get Up Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical (West End).
Jade describes her personal work as ‘dance activism’. She creates socially and politically conscious work about the black diaspora, whilst also telling stories that centre around love, joy and healing.
Rooted Collective
Rooted Collective is led by South Asian artists in collaboration with global creatives. Merging tradition with contemporary influences, we craft immersive performances that blend dance, storytelling, and hip hop theatre. Through interdisciplinary work, we challenge norms, celebrate cultural intersections, and create transformative experiences. With adaptability at our core, we foster dialogue between heritage and innovation - pushing boundaries and connecting audiences through movement and narrative.

X7eaven is a vibrant performing arts company empowering young creatives through dance, drama, and music training.
